Holidays with the Belles

Last weekend, Lance and I headed up to Dallas for my first book signing of 2016. The event was hosted by Southern Belle Book Blog and the signing itself was INSANE. I met a lot of new readers, signed books, and snapped enough photos to make my cheeks feel numb. (After a while, my brain forgot what normal facial expressions felt like. Am I smiling?!)

^^ I had the most boring table there. Lori Otto, I’m looking at you with your monogrammed water bottles. Your creativity is making the rest of us look bad…;)

Signings are always a struggle for me because I work well as an introvert. I kid you not, if I’m invited to do something, nine times out of ten, I will say no. I realize this isn’t a normal/healthy response, so sometimes, I force myself to say yes. Hence, why I attend two to three book signings a year. A full weekend of socializing with peers and readers is enough to send me back into my introvert hidey-hole for like ten months.

^^ Things to learn from this photo: Tarryn is adorable (no surprise), I look like I have a limp arm, and Colleen takes a pretty good photo (just fyi). Also, yes. Those are angel wings.

^^ Me, when I still knew what a normal smile felt like.

If you’re reading this post and just got hit with a suffocating wave of FOMO (fear of missing out), come visit me at the signings I have coming up:
